Students like Madelyn Goff, a junior at Wood County Christian School, said she doesn’t mind having those guidelines. Some schools may not want their students to go all out when it comes to decorating their lockers, such as Wood County Christian School in Williamstown. “It’s hilarious when kids are saying things like, ‘I was wondering where that was,’ but they are aware of the importance of keeping their lockers clean, which is all we ask.” “Sometimes they’re not the cleanest, but they’ll have jackets in there from the winter, and a lot of school papers,” said Schob. Schob reminds her students to always keep their lockers clean and organized. “At the middle school, they have a lot of things that need to be in their lockers such as books, school materials, coats, and so they’re really not given a lot of extra room to decorate their lockers with a lot of extra stuff,” said Schob. Schob also said students aren’t given too much extra room for decorating their lockers after they put in all of their books, class materials and any extra-curricular things they may need. “I haven’t seen a lot of students who decorate their lockers to that extent, but we do have students decorate on the outside of their lockers for sporting events,” said Schob.

Principal Brittany Schob at Marietta Middle School, said the students are allowed to decorate their lockers in any way they like. “I decided to decorate my locker because I want to show that I have school spirit by decorating with school colors and I don’t really like plain things,” said Kitchen. Kitchen is decorating her locker with her two favorite colors, pink and purple and said she bought the majority of her locker decorations from PBteen. I also might hang up pictures of my friends and summer vacation,” said Kitchen.
